SlashMySearch – Another way to make money online

Posted by Online Mom on March 12, 2009

You probably have not heard of SlashMySearch.com. This is a brand new search engine which allows user to earn money doing what they normally do, search. This search engine comes with Ebay and Amazon search functions. Two types of ebay search are available: regular ebay search and ebay typo search. This function comes in handy if you often buy from ebay.

How do you earn money with SlashMySearch?

When you sign up, you will be given a unique url to use as your homepage as well as to refer others. After setting up your home page, what you need to do is just to use the search function as how you normally use Google or Yahoo. You are paid by your activity at SlashMySearch. You won’t earn by clicking the ads, though, unlike Adsense.

Why would SlashMySearch want to pay you?

Well, according to them, they are paid by advertisers for ads on the search engines and they want to pay users to use their search engine. Seems like a reasonable reason to me. Especially since this program requires no layout, it is 100% free to join them.

How much can you earn?

According to them, you can earn by just using their search engine. You don’t need to refer others to earn. If you don’t refer anyone, you can earn up to $180 per month or $0.25 per hour. However, if you do refer others, you will earn even more. Don’t worry that your earnings is deducted to pay the person who refer you, it does not work that way. SlashMySearch will pay your referrer instead.

Take a look at the graphic to get a better idea:

I have tried using to make searches. I have to say that their search functions is a far cry from Google. However, they are still new and working hard to improve. Who knows they might grow as big as Google or Yahoo some day.

Oh by the way, if you are wondering if anyone got paid ? The answer is yes, one of my contact was promptly paid $57 to his paypal and that is for one month’s effort. Not bad, I would say!
