
Arousing the emotions and desires of your audience plays a major role in your success. If you expect to survive in business, any business, you must learn to arouse the customers’ emotions and desires. No matter what information product you are promoting, It has to appear jam-packed with self-interest benefits.
New business ventures waste millions of dollars yearly because they couldn’t understand that what they say and what the customer wants to hear are two different things. But you on the other hand, will make a fortune if you can understand this and use it to your advantage.
Emotions are what drive people to buy anything. That being said, moving the prospect to buy should be the sole purpose of your product and advertisement. You don’t just have to stir up enough emotions to cause desire, but enough to cause the rationalization to provide an excuse based on logic.
No customer will ever admit that they bought something because of emotions. Actually, logic probably had a small part to play in the purchase. The reason is that a lot of times people’s actions are caused by instincts and impulses that most customers are unaware of.
When writing, always try to understand how your product might appeal emotionally to readers by focusing on your own feelings. Always think of how a benefit will arouse a reader’s emotions and desires.
